Is there a way to setup a filter such that an autoresponder will be sent back the first time someone ever text but after that it will never send them that autoresponder again?

Not with GVMax. I have written custom apps for people that have done that though.
For example a smoke cessation program that contained a number users could SMS a message to and which
would send an SMS reply that rotated depending on the user who sent the SMS. Also did a magic program that would stop sending SMS replies after a number of SMS were received by a given user.
